An Act to amend the Employment Equity Act
This enactment requires the Canada Human Rights Commission to prepare an annual report to the Minister responsible for the Employment Equity Act on the progress of employment equity in the federal public service and requires that Minister to cause that report to be tabled in Parliament.
Bill C-468 proposes to strengthen the Employment Equity Act by requiring the Canada Human Rights Commission to create an annual report. This report will detail the progress made in addressing systemic barriers and disadvantages faced by visible minorities, particularly Black Canadians, in the federal public service. The responsible Minister must then table this report in Parliament, ensuring greater accountability and transparency regarding employment equity within the government.
