An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (hours of work of flight attendants)
This enactment amends the Canada Labour Code to provide that, in calculating the time in respect of which an employee who is a flight attendant is to be paid, the employer must include the time that the employee spends in carrying out their pre-flight and post-flight duties and in completing mandatory training programs.
Bill C-409, also known as the Fairness for Flight Attendants Act, proposes changes to the Canada Labour Code. If passed, it would require employers to pay flight attendants for all the time they spend on pre-flight and post-flight duties, including security checks and passenger assistance. It also mandates that paid time include time spent completing mandatory training programs and being at the employer's disposal, even during flight delays.
