Bill Detail
An Act to establish a national framework on heart failure
This enactment provides for the development of a national framework to support improved access for Canadians to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart failure.
This bill aims to create a national strategy to improve how heart failure is prevented, diagnosed, and treated in Canada. Heart failure is a serious and growing health issue, leading to many hospitalizations and deaths each year. The proposed framework will focus on early detection, better access to care across the country, especially in remote areas, and improving patient and caregiver support.
It will also involve collecting data to better understand heart failure and measure the effectiveness of treatments. The Minister of Health will consult with various groups, including provincial governments, Indigenous communities, healthcare professionals, and patient groups, to develop this framework. The goal is to reduce deaths, complications, and inequities related to heart failure, while also saving money for the healthcare system.
